The historic Biloxi Lighthouse holds two distinctions: it was the first cast-iron lighthouse in the South, and it has been kept by more woman keepers than any other lighthouse in the United States. During the onslaught of Hurricane George, the masonry lighthouse on Round Island toppled, leaving the Biloxi Lighthouse as the last remaining original lighthouse built to mark the Mississippi coast. The lighthouse is located just east of the Beau Rivage Casino, along the southern coastline of Biloxi.
